WHAT IS YOUR NOW?

When to hustle, when to rest?

... Smell the peonies with a pocket full of mountain tops. Let us not grow restless walking around with a silhouette shadowing the beauty of a slow dance. Let the slow be your catapult into a sky of momentum. There’s a time to shuffle and a time to run, what time is it now? Know your now --- breeze effortlessly into that loop hole where nothing more matters than to bask in all that is still. Stillness is the fastest train there is, it’s currency is that of rest and rest is the pillow where mountain tops are cultivated. Is now your time to sit still or is now your time to shuffle to that fire cracker beat? Walk in the rhythm you have been graced with, rebel against the waves that demand you to move when it’s time to breathe slow. Bags under eyes hinder far away vision, yet sequins under your lashes help one create with jevity full of colour. Feast with your eyes, fill your well with the un-tangible, listen to the sounds that are a decibel below a whisper, banter with the ones that drink cups full of rose water and above all, decipher your motion, then dance accordingly.

For those with messy hair and creative hearts --- This is for you.

Ask yourself just this... “What is my now?”

There is no point hustling for your creative dreams if your intuition (that still small voice) is telling you that now is a time to rest. There’s also no point in resting if momentum is circling you like the beautiful hurricane it is. What is your now?

This question is so important to me and my creative seasons in running my design studio. I need to be asking myself this question season upon season in order to be productive, fruitful and live out what I’m called to live. It’s easy to miss your season if you don’t make time to listen to the winds of change. It takes a quietened heart to hear it’s motion.

Right now, I’m in a season of massive change, living in another country. I’m crazy enough to have married a Stuntman, his job sees us living life strictly on the edge and sometimes waiting by the clock at 11th hour anticipating an email that tells us whether or not we are moving to another country or not. So my season is telling me this --- Be kind to yourself, don’t take on too much work, rest, enjoy the sun and family time. Put your hands to the things that expect little but fill your creative soul with life and colour, laugh a lot and let your hair out whilst you wait. This is my now.

What is yours?
